This Is For You Renn!

                                                          Renn Saves The Day!

Renn, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker were walking in Courscant on a bright, sunshiny day when to their shock Darth Vader appeared before them.

"Renn!" Darth Vader looked at him through that breathing mask, with those steely eyes.

"What say you?" Renn replied.

"No Jedi has the force with them as much as you do."

Renn grinned at Darth Vader.

Luke and Chewbacca stared at Darth Vader.

"And what about my light saber?" Renn asked.

"Only the most powerful of all the Jedi, nay of anyone." Darth Vader hopped into his rebel ship and hollered, "I dread the day when I have to go up against you, Renn. It terrifies me. For no one knows your strength and fortitude, but I."

Luke and Chewbacca stood beside this Renn who is the strongest in all the galaxy. Able to defeat anything in his path.

"You know Darth Vader came here to defeat us Renn. But when he saw you. He quivered and turned to jelly." A grateful Luke handed Renn the GOLDEN light saber. "Renn, you saved the day again."

Renn held the golden light saber up and yelled, "Power to the people!"

Renn here are some fun Star Wars games to play on the computer. Best thing is, they're free. :-) Click the link:
May the force be with you!

Peeps, Renn is battling epilepsy and is in the hospital right now for testing. You KNOW this is near and dear to me because of my Christopher. So send him some Star Wars happy wishes in the comments will ya?

To your mom and dad and little brother, "The strength of the force is with Renn. Never forget that! Seizures are nothing now that he has the golden light saber." :-) God bless you all! Praying for you.

CassaStorm Cover Reveal, Y'all!

CassaStorm by Alex J. Cavanaugh
Alex J. Cavanaugh (THE Ninja Captain;-))

A storm gathers across the galaxy…

Byron thought he’d put the days of battle behind him. Commanding the Cassan base on Tgren, his only struggles are occasional rogue pirate raids and endless government bureaucracies. As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.

After enemy ships attack the desert planet, Byron discovers another battle within his own family. The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son, shaking Bassan to the core and threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.

Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that might signal the end of all life in the galaxy. And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could be on its way back. As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

The Return of Phyllis, that Purty Groundhog Gal

You remember Phyllis, don'tcha? She is that groundhog that visited my farm last year. My pal, Susanna Leonard Hill's creation from two of her picture books, April Fool Phyllis and Punxsutawney Phyllis. It seems like Phyllis couldn't get enough of our NC farm so she returned on February 2nd. (She was fit to be tied when she realized that it was winter here too and there would be NO strawberries to pick.)

Anyway. I told her I needed six more weeks of winter. Did she deliver? I THINK NOT! She tried and tried, but could not see her shadow.

When we last left Phyllis she was a rodeo weather gal. Since she couldn't swim either (she was foot stompin' mad about that) she demanded a race. A horse race. Against MOI. Never one to shrink from a challenge I accepted her gauntlet. The catch? She insisted on riding my super fast palomino appaloosa, Mister Ed. (They kinda connected on her last visit.)
I chose Cloud. Our ever faithful Tennessee walking horse. Ivy joined in with her thoroughbred/dutch warm blood  jumper, Saber. Enjoy. :-) (Note from Phyll: Pay NO attention to that man running in front of Mr. Ed. Just remember. I won that race fair and square.) PSHAW! *wink*

(Note from Robyn: Pay NO attention to that man giving acting directions. We went over this and over this. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
Thanks to these my members of my family: hubby, Ivy, Ben (who filmed it), and Nic who handed the flowers to Phyll. Now I owe the entire bunch a pizza dinner.

OCULUS, peeps.

Oculus is the sequel written by Michael Offutt. Slipstream is the first book. You need to read it first.

The blurb:
"What is the oculus?"

Autumn has arrived in New York, and Jordan Pendragon is a freshman at Cornell University. Gifted in mathematics, he balances life as a research assistant with that of a student athlete.

But Jordan also has a quest. He must find the Black Tower, a monolithic edifice housing a thing that defines the very structure of the universe. Jordan believes it is buried somewhere in Antarctica under miles of prehistoric ice.

October finds Jordan earning a starting position with the Cornell hockey team. But a dark cloud gathers over his rookie season. Unexplained deaths, whispers of a cannibal cult, a prophecy, and a stone known only as the Oculus, cast a shadow over his athletic ambitions. It is the start of a terrifying journey down a path of mystery, murder, and to a confrontation with an Evil more ancient than the stars.

My Review:

Oculus is most definitely a sci-fi read. It's also fantasy. He's done an excellent job with characterization. And Michael's writing plops you right into the story, which takes place on earth, not on Avalon, as Slipstream did. Someone once said that science fiction is the improbable made possible. This is that science fiction.

The ride starts as Jordan (who plays hockey) meets Myd. The oculus is a stone around her neck. Since returning home and entering school, Jordan is studying ice samples to find the Black Tower in order to save the earth. I don't want to say too much for fear of saying too much. Yanno?

The plot is riveting and the science is really scientific unlike some sci-fi reads. (Are you really a scientist, Michael?) :) This is not a story that you will read in a couple of hours. It's quite involved, so prepare to spend some time with it. Do you like paranormal? Then this is for you.

Here's where to get it:

And She Scores!

I've been trying to sign in since I got my computer back on Tuesday. *sigh* I was hacked a few months ago and, well, "These are the best of times, these are the WORST of times."

But I finally got in. SCORE ONE FOR ROBYN!

I am waay behind on stuff. My computer went and I lost most of EVERYTHING. Writing? Yep. Pictures? Yep.

I owe my pal Michael Offutt a review of his excellent book, Oculus. That's a big can do, Mike. On Monday, January 28th. Please come back and read it peeps. That book is SUPER FANTASTIC!

See you then. *waving*
