Ripple’s Effect and YOU Can Win a Copy!! YEAH, YEAH! :-)

This awesome picture book was written by Shawn Achor and Amy Blankson. It was illustrated by Cecelia Rebora. A huge round of applause for the publisher, Little Pickle Press. I was extremely excited to do a review for this charming book. For one thing, I read picture books. For another, I write them. I positively jumped at the chance to be in the blog tour for this special little book.

Leave a comment for your chance to win a copy. Tweet or FB this post, let me know in the comments and you'll get five extra entries each. Good luck my peeps, good luck! (I'll ask my old pal, random.org to pick a winner on Friday, November the 16th.)

Synopsis:

It takes big actions to make big changes. Or does it? In Ripple’s Effect, residents of an aquarium learn that sometimes a smile is all it takes to make a world of difference. Awash with charming illustrations, this delightful tale will show children that happiness is a choice they get to make for themselves.

Doesn't that sound wonderful? Here's the link to buy this most coveted Christmas present. We need Ripple's Effect under our tree. :-)

*hint* *hint*

Dealing with bullies is a real problem no matter what our age in life. In this sweet story, Ripple (who is a dolphin), works to show Snark the shark that mean is out and happiness is in. She actually makes pals with Snark and his bully friends. And she shows Snark that it's fun to giggle. Who knew that could work? ;-)

This lovely story story made me realize how much we have to teach our kids about this subject. By providing books like this one it makes our jobs that much easier. Happiness is not out of reach. We must make sure that our kids know this. With characters like Ripple, our children can learn about life situations in a very safe way. The words are colorful and vivid. They'll love the magnificent illustrations that jump off the page. They're so real you feel like you could actually touch the aquarium critters. (Snark is so laugh out loud adorable.) This fun and super creative story is well worth the money. It's one of those 'read over and over' books which make us giggle and giggle long after we've closed the cover. (And makes a writer wish she'd written it.) :-)

And so, I ask you the age old question, my friends. Can you make a shark smile today? :-)

And also, for the month of November you can save 30% on your entire order when you purchase Ripple’s Effect. Just use code LPPRipple12 at check-out. How cool is that??

I Was Tagged and the Winners Are!

That's our photo of Ivy hopping. Now she's famous. Uh-huh.
My blogging friend, Rachna Chhabria tagged me in the The Next Big Thing Bloghop Peeps!!!!!!!!!! I was supposed to post this last week. But *blows out a long, deep, sigh* life got in my way. But before I do that,  here are the winners of Lynn Kelley's super duper chapter book, Curse of the Double Digits.

Pa rum de dummmm dum dum:

Sharon Mayhew - Signed paperback
Susan Kaye Quinn - eBook

Yippee for y'all. Today is your lucky day. (I already blabbed this to Mayhew in an email!) So technically, yesterday was her lucky day. *ahem*
 On to the the questions.

What is the working title of your book?
Depends on which book you mean. I have several picture books and two MG novels in the works. I'll pick one. The first one.
SEVENTY-TWO HOURS.

Where did the idea come from for the book? From  my hubby, actually.

What genre does your book fall under? Contemporary. It's MG.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Oh let me think. Elle Fanning, Ryan Newman, and Chandler Canterbury. Okay the casting has finished. Let us make the movie! *wink*
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Thirteen-year-old Anna doesn’t let anything hold her back--not her diabetes and certainly not a few wisps of grey cloud threatening her afternoon horse ride.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? Repped.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? Ack! One year.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Gary Paulsen’s HATCHET and Kathleen Duey’s HOOFBEATS

Who or What inspired you to write this book? My horses really. They are so fast and free. Two of them are in the story.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? It's adventure. If you love thrilling story line then this book is for you! Anna and Claire are alone in the Blue Ridge Mountains after a freako thunderstorm hits. They are lost, alone, and afraid.  They have to become strong in the midst of wild animals and no food. It's switches POV with Anna and her brother Ian. He's back at the ranch and means to find Anna and Claire no matter what.

Now I must tag some peeps. So I tag YOU! Happy weekend peeps! MWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
