I thought it was only open to writers who have characters 18 or younger? I might need to go check again!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, it specifically says any writer can benefit from the conference. Go sign up. :0)
ReplyDeleteRobyn, I double checked.
ReplyDeleteIt says:
"WriteOnCon is an Online Children’s Writers Conference (rated MC-18, for Main Characters under 18 only) created by writers, for writers."
So only if I have Main Characters under 18 can I register, I'm assuming. I'm sad about that. :(
Michelle, this is taken from the site:
ReplyDeleteWriteOnCon is also not exclusive to kidlit writers. In order to stay organized, the curriculum has been focused on picture book, middle grade, and young adult writers. However, much of the information provided will apply to all writers, and since the conference is free, any interested writer is encouraged to attend.
I got that on the What is WriteOnCon page. =)
Then why did they put the 18 or under thing up? Ugh. I may just have to ask Elana. Confusing! Thanks for that quote there, though. I didn't see that before. :)
ReplyDeleteI think they put it, because it is first and foremost for kidlit. But it also has something for all writers. I think you should sign up, but yeah, ask Elana. It sounds wonderful though. And there is no cutoff on registration. So you have time. =)
ReplyDeleteWill be there, Robyn! *hugs* How are you doing?
ReplyDeleteDani, see you there! Not feeling great. Trying to recover. Pneumonia stinks! =) *hugs* I need pneumonia cookies. *grin*
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that! I'm in and looking forward to it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI shall see you there my sweet pal, Shannon. *hugs* =)
ReplyDeleteI so wish I was going to be here for this. I'm hoping they do it again in the fall or winter. If you have any pull, you might want to mention that.
ReplyDeleteAre you going on vaca at this time, Patti? I know they are going to do it again next year. =)
ReplyDeleteI don't write YA or MG. Kind of sucks for us adult fiction writers. sad face.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a poet? Do you think I'll benefit too? I love anything free :)
ReplyDeleteHannah, you can still be involved. They say there is something for everyone. Check it out, anyway. =)
ReplyDeleteKelly, I know a lot of poets that have signed up. Why don't you hop over and visit. These poets also write picture books, or MG and Ya, but there might be something good for you. They are doing free critiques. Who knows? One thing leads to another. =)
ReplyDeleteThansk for the info. Will be checking into this for sure.
ReplyDeleteRobyn,
ReplyDeletey'all have a great time! I'm swooping in for one day and then will re-hit the road!
Blessings,
Patti
Hey Susan! Def check into it. It will be chock full of info. =)
