Plot Twists or Could Be Titled What Have Your Critters Done For You?

I know when I am writing, SOMETHING has to happen. Some turning point. Some action or some event that takes my story off in a new direction. A path that the reader wasn't expecting. (hopefully) That's my plot twist. And there is several taking shape in my new WIP. Thanks to Beth who*** being the honest critter she is, told me that I was on the wrong track. After we met before unplug week I was thrilled. Why? Because I have hit on some things for my story that hadn't crossed my mind. Now it is reading like the great mystery I want it to be. Aren't critters lovely? :)

So now I see there will be many more twists and turns for the reader in my book. And what fun it is too. All thanks to a very appreciated critter! :)

Shouldn't there be a National CRITTER DAY? Or an Appreciate Your Critter Day?

So how have your critters helped you? Your beta readers? :) Let's appreciate them. :)

  1. Yay! Can't wait to read the new stuff now!!! :)

  2. Hi Robyn,

I am so glad that God placed some people in your life to help you develop. One of the reasons I joined the blogsphere was to experience that nurturing.

I'm looking forward to crossing some wonderful paths.

Any online critique groups you can recommend? Drop in on me at

    Blessings to you...

  3. My crit buddies have been supportive, encouraging, candid, creative. They have pointed out flaws and ways to fix them, suggested new avenues. I love working with people like that and am happy I am able to give as well as receive. I think we learn a lot by helping each other.

  4. I just love it when they throw out a suggestion they think is small, but then you stop and think, "you know, that't not a bad idea." And suddenly, the entire book is taking a whole new turn and going places you never expected. It like a whole new world just opened its doors to you.

So, yeah, critters rock, big time!

  5. Oh boy, critters rule! There should definitely be an Appreciate Your Critter Day! My critique group has been supportive and encouraging and has improved my writing immensely. They're all very talented and have wonderful suggestions and feedback. Yay for critters!

  6. National Critter Day? LOL! I love that idea. Yes, I'm SO thankful for mine. ONe just gave me some advice that was awesome and totally turned on a light bulb for me.
I don't know if you saw my comment on facebook, but your post didn't show up in my dashboard. I don't know why???

  7. I love it!! And I love my Critters! They've helped me flesh out my writing and recognize my strong and weak points. Plus, they're just really cool, kind people. Love them.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. I'm thankful for all my critters :)

And great idea to make mention of it!

  9. Congratulations on the new changes, Robyn! I really appreciate the people who read my work and tell me what they think of it. I have a few friends who have even read 4-5 drafts of my novel, and I know that I owe them a lot. I only hope that I've been able to help them as much as they've helped me.

  10. Don't you just love your critique partners? There should be a day just to celebrate them. National Critique Partner Day...we could stay home, eat chocolate and read all day.

  11. Hi! Nope, haven't gotten anything from you yet. Will send a test email now...

You might want to consider getting a back up email address?

  12. Couldn't do it without my critter tribe!

  13. Beth, I can't get it. Cameron is looking into the problem for me. Was my blog post on your dashboard today? Just wondering. Why am I having all these problems? I can't even pull up my facebook. It's all blank.
