Where The Wild Things Are comes to theaters today. Who of you can't wait to see it? Are you going this weekend or will you wait until the crowds thin out a bit?
Just let me say that it's going to be a WILD weekend around here. Can't wait either. The book has ALWAYS been a favorite around this hose. We still have our copy. It's all tattered because it's been read so much.
Are you going? See you there. :)
Even though we struggled when kidlets were young, I bought every Mercer Mayer book available. Hoping my 17, 18 & 20 year olds will take old Mom to see the movie and relive good memories after the lines dwindle some. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's to that becoming a reality Angie. Cheers my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll probably have to wait unil the video comes out. But I'm sure I'll buy it for my baby when it does!! Have fun at the movies.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Buy it and have it for her as she gets to the age where she can have fun laughing and watching with you. Those are the memories. And make sure she knows "the book is ALWAYS better." :)
ReplyDeleteI love the book so much, the movie looks strange to me though. Ack
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought about that to T.Anne. But I'm tagging along because I loved the book so much. I'll let you know. :)
ReplyDeleteJust received the NYT review of this in my inbox. Must still read the review. Movie will take a while to reach our shores though.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait Ann! I need some DOWN time. I figured it would take a while for it to reach you in South Africa. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect cool, drizzly weekend in Texas to watch movies, but I won't make it. My schedule is crammed with goodies, like Dad's birthday, Harvest Festival, and lots of plotting.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
We'll be at baseball games all weekend, so we'll probably wait. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave fun! We're a strange family. If it comes between buying a book or going to a movie, we buy the book. Of course, it also costs an arm and a leg to get six of us in. :$ (to both places, but books are forever. O:))
ReplyDeleteTamika, Have a great weekend. Sounds like you have a lot planned. Good luck on that plotting. :)
ReplyDeleteSusan, Have fun at the games. Hope it doesn't rain you out. It has rained here all week. UG! :)
ReplyDeleteDanyelle, I think the book is ALWAYS better than the movie. But I need some down time. Hope I don't fall asleep. I'm so tired lately, I might. :) You're right! Books are forever. :)Have a great weekend. See you after unplug week.
ReplyDeleteAck! I'd forgotten that was coming. *hugs* I shall miss you much. Have some good down time. :D
ReplyDelete(((((HUGS))))) I will miss you too! Down time! I need it. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn-
ReplyDeleteThat movies looks delightful! I for one though will be spending the weekend at a conference on couple's counseling. Not quite as delightful but interesting nonetheless.
Enjoy!
Yes Stephanie! Very interesting. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteone of the main things that make this movie seem less "child-like" was the actors they chose for the voices, especially James Gandolfini (from the Sopranos)
