Happy Guy Fawkes Day tomorrow. What is that, you ask?

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

What are YOUR favorite MG historicals? Do tell!

Smooch!

  1. Will head over! Hmm, fave MG historicals...does the Witch of Blackbird Pond count? I know there are several others but their names escape me now. One old favorite is The Island of the Blue Dolphin, but not sure if that is technically a historical. It's been a long time since I read it!

I also love Cathy Gohlke's William Henry is a Fine Name and I Have Seen Him in the Watchfires, but they are more YA.

    Have a wonderful weekend, amigo!
    Big hugs,
    Karen

  8. I recently read Dragon by Julie Andrwes and Emma Walton Hamilton - medieval, and loved it! Haven't celebrated Guy Fawks in so long, been out of the UK too long!

  9. I remember my last Guy Fawkes night when I lived in England. We had a big bonfire. We burnt our guy (yikes that sounds rather scary). We did sparklers and I dipped mine in the water too cool it and then like a silly little girl took it back out of the water and grabbed the top to see if it was cool. It wasn't! I had a nasty burn in the palm of my hand. We had an awesome Guy Fawkes Day cake to finish the evening off. :)
